The Yucca moths created some seed pods on my Yucca constricta x filamentosa 'tall form'. If anyone wants some seed let me know.

I`m too interested in seed of your beautiful Yucca's. The seedling of "Big Mama" are still growing but very slow. Y. concava seedling all died a few weeks after germination without obvious reason.

I'll have plenty of the 'native' Y. concava seed. These seeds should be ripe soon. I'll try to drive by to collect seed later this week. I also have many seeds pods on a Y. constricta x filamentosa. I have 3 seed pods of Y. constricta x filamentosa 'tall' and two seed pods of the Y. flaccida 'Tenn' x baccata. A few others too. Any I should have plenty of O. humifusa x phaeacantha 'red' seed too.

I have sown Yucca "Big Mama" seeds this year of both the F2 and next generation hybrid seeds, both are growing very well and the seedlings are among the biggest and fast growing forms in this years many batch'es of seeds.

I have always found the seedlings of Yucca filamentosa ssp. concava difficult to grow. I think that the trick is to plenty, and water with fertilizer, although some seedlings do die from too much watering also. I hope, that I will be able to grow at least a few of them to maturity.

die Y. glauca x linearifolia von Benny ist aus meiner Sicht die interessanteste Hybride aus dem letzten Jahr. Den Samen, den Benny mir geschickt hat, habe ich erst im Juni ausgesät. Gegenwärtig sind die kleinen Racker im 6-Blatt-Stadium und anscheinend deutlich kleiner als Benny's Pflanzen.

die Y. recurvifolia x rostrata/thompsoniana von mir die ich 'Rero' nenne hat wirklich ein flottes Wachstum. Ich habe die Samen schon im März diesen Jahres ausgesät. Es sind kräftige Sämlinge mit schönem Blauton.


an einigen ist schon das gesägte Blatt zu erkennen


versuchsweise habe ich schon mal einen Auspflanztest vorgenommen. Die wird auch nicht geschützt.


im Beet ist der Sämling deutlich blauer und mit schmaleren Blättern gewachsen.

das wäre doch mal eine neue Kategorie wert
Es werden die schönsten Pflanzen vorgestellt und per Klick kann jeder dafür voten, so würden die Hybridencharts auch dynamisch werden und bleiben.

Aber ich gebe Dir Recht, die ReRo von Horts ist schon eine sehr gelungene Hybride. Bei Benny's Y. glauca x linearifolia wird es interessant welcher Elternteil wohl dominiert, auch in Bezug auf die Winterhärte.

I agree......Benny/Horst's Y. glauca x linearifolia sounds very interesting. The linearifolia hybrids in my garden from all you appear very slow growing......not sure why. Are they putting most of their energy into the root system?

I hope you get more Y. rostrata/rigida x 'Alzenau' seeds to germ. I need to start my seeds about May 1 since I don't have strong light. If I started my seeds in Feb most would be weak too. I need a greenhouse outside.
