I spotted a couple more Y. gloriosas sending up blooms today.

Y. gloriosa 'Big Tennessee form' is sending up a bloom. This is the 4th time this has bloomed. 3 times in fall and 1 time in spring.

thanks for sharing the pics. Your Y. gloriosa 'Big Tennessee Form' is awsome.
May be that the genes of Y. gloriosa will be dominate and thats the reason that the flowerstalk of your Y. gloriosa x elata blooms
in the fall.

beautyful flowerstalks, the 'treculeana form' is my favourite. Do you know if the Y. recurvifolia 'Highway 421' which Don send to me ist a spring - or an autumn bloomer?

I'm not too sure what time of the season Y. recurvifolia/gloriosa 'Highway 421' blooms. For some reason I think it's spring since Don mailed us seed and I don't recall receiving the seed in late fall/winter time. But I'm just guessing.

I'll let you know when 421 blooms in my garden......it is mature and 'should' bloom next season.

and you are sure that this plant will make upright fruits? My 421-form is a little bit smaller but a very impressive plant. I've got a tuber from Don, some years ago.

Don says 421 forms upright fruits. I have not seen any fruit. Mine is very large and can bloom anytime now?????
