I am testing Euphorbia resinifera. It should survive about -8C. I cover it with a feather pillow and some plastic cover to keep the pillow dry. That way it survived a longer spell of frost in Dec with temps as low as -8,5C. Now it is starting to deteriorate from the middle, but most of the plant is still alive. The lowest in Jan was -15, but there was about 50cm of snow cover on top. Should the weather get dryer and sunnier soon without any prolonged cold spell, then I am sure it would get through the winter. At the moment I see the chances of survival 50:50.
Anyway, in mild areas, i.e. Cornwall, it would be worth while trying it out. Euphorbia resinifera grows in the Atlas mountains of Marocco where frost and humidity occur in the winter
