ja, ich denke dass es 2 Klone von (aloifolia x stricta) x arkansana gibt. Meine Pflanzen, die ich von Demeter bekommen habe und über die wir hier so ausgiebig diskutieren, sind deckungsgleich mit dem was Benny an Pflanzen erhalten hat. Das schließt die baileyi x gloriosa mit ein. Bei den Pflanzen, die über Palmaliget gekauft wurden muss wohl die eine oder andere Verwechselung passiert sein.
Deine GWH-Hybride passt genau in Schema (arkansana x stricta) x arkansana. Die im Findlingsbeet müßte eine baileyi x gloriosa sein.

Current photo of the edge fibers of my specimen. As can be seen, the edge fibers are more similar to the pattern of Y. arkansana, than the above shown hybrid Y. angustissima x arkansana, but slightly less. Likewise can also be seen the involvement of the father, the Janakidizs hybrid Yucca glauca aloifolia x ssp. stricta! Even if the leaves appear slightly blurry, because the focus on the filaments, can be seen that they are not as dark as You did thought. The margin filament formation of these hybrids is thus also variable, as might be expected!

these are pretty and vigorous plants, as can be seen also in your environment! It does not matter by which name it has received this, or what is correct and what is not, or to say it with the words of Benny Møller Jensen: "I can only say enjoy the plant you are growing, it doesn't care what you call it!"

Das ist jedenfalls die echte Y. baileyi x gloriosa. Die hat letztes Jahr bei mir geblüht ((Yucca 'Syrah' (baileyi x gloriosa x thompsoniana grün)) und ein Kindel mit einem ordentlichen Rhizomanteil konnte ich noch abmachen.


Hurra, die ersten frischen Wurzeln


die baileyi x gloriosa ist eine der besten Pflanzen zum pömpeln. Die ist unglaublich einfach zu pollinieren und macht riesengroße Früchte. Das Ovarium ist sehr groß, ähnlich baileyi.
Die 'Syrah' ist ziemlich wüchsig, bin gespannt wie die mal aussehen wird.

Meine oben gezeigte Pflanze blüht jetzt erstmals.
Anfangs dachte ich noch dass es einen ährenförmigen Blütenstand gibt:



Das hat sich aber mit zunehmendem Wachstum schnell geändert:




Interessante "zwittrige" Form des Blütenstandes:
unten ca. 40 cm ährenförmig, dann ca. 20 cm verzweigt, oben wieder ca. 40 cm ährenförmig


Die Blüten sind prima zu bepömpeln, da das Ovarium weit geöffnet ist.
Vorgestern habe ich einige baccata-Pollen von Saschas grüner baccata drüber geworfen


Insgesamt habe ich gestern 62 Blütenstände gezählt

(aloifolia x glauca ssp. stricta) x arkansana some additional photos of my in the last autumn bloomed plant of these hybrid - there was saved yet unexpectedly my begun response to your message # 35, so I'll send them herewith after a very long break.

Thank you very much for showing the photos of your specimen BMJ # 2251B, an really interesting Kurilla hybrid Yucca (recurvifolia x flaccida) x glauca ssp. stricta. This hybrid unfortunately I have never known before! Thank you for the notice in!

If oneself have doubts about the correctness to the given naming of an obtained plant, or someone else believes to recognize circumstantial evidence, and one often realizes this only after many years - then one should also reason to go, even if it is often cumbersome and sometimes not really to be clarified. So I am pleased about your intention and suggestion, and I enjoy to investigate these!

Although my specimen has a little more edge fibers, and perhaps a little more distorted leaves, but otherwise corresponds this specimen to the 'narrower leaved' seedling strain, which presumably is also variable - and not an 'uniform clone' or 'two uniform clones', respectively, of Y. (aloifolia x glauca ssp. stricta) x arkansana as it's in culture with others, as discussed here. Probably has had the Y. aloifolia x glauca ssp. stricta in the garden of Ferenc Kurilla in Szigetszentmiklós (German Nigglau) in the Hungarian Comitat Pest, more than only one or two seed pods, pollinated by him with Y. arkansana, and hence there might occur several different seedling strains!

In this context, by the way, to discuss of clones is incorrect in my opinion, because a clone designates a genetically identical progeny generated by asexual reproduction. That's here certainly not the case, so we'd better use the term seedlings strain!

Another factor for noticeable effect on the appearance of the plant is to be expected as a result of the from the site conditions influenced phenotypic plasticity of the Yuccas. For example, in culture under light diminishing glass the plant will never show their typical appearance and look unlike an site with higher radiation rates, likewise an lesser formation of marginal filaments. Also edaphic factors affect the appearance, etc. But all just in the given context of the genetic endowment.

Getting back to the Kurilla Hybrid Y. (recurvifolia x flaccida) x glauca ssp. stricta! It could be quite well certain similarities in both hybrids, but I don't think that my specimen belongs to this, but rather I assume that I had this obtained with the correct naming, as before mentioned briefly! Compare please also my hints and photos above in # 33.

For example, compared with your photos of the BMJ # 2251B correspond both, the marginal strips and the edge threads not your plant, but rather to that shown herein so-called 'narrowleaved clone' of the others.

And since I have seen the photos of walters flowering plant, it would subsequently to add that, apart from the fact that my specimen had flourished in the fall (if ever?) - possibly indicates an genetic influence of Y. aloifolia - that the inflorescenses and flowers of Walters and my plant although not strictly identical, but definitely they are comparable (see the photos in the next post)!

meine hatte bereits im Herbst geblüht, ob sie aber immer ein Herbstblüher ist, wird man sehen. Auch wenn die Pflanzen in der Belaubung unterschiede aufweisen, sind die Blüten und Blütenstände zwar nicht gleich, aber doch vergleichbar. Vergleiche bitte auch die Fotos mit dem beginnenden Spargeln weiter oben in #19. Habe dann leider die Blüten nicht mehr gepostet und hole dieses jetzt nach! WEnn Du noch Fotos vom Inneneren Deiner Blüten zu Vergleichszwecken ergänzen könntest, wär Klasse!

Wie auch Tim schreibt: 'Similar bloom form to glauca ssp stricta'. Das war mir bei meinem Exemoplar im Herbst ebenfalls 'ins Auge gefallen' und wenn man das Innenleben vergleicht, Die Blütenform und Farbe (Tepalen) erinnern sehr an Y. glauca va. stricta, das intime Blüteninnere jedoch, jedenfalls bei meiner Pflanze, besonders das Gynoeceum erinnert entsprechend an Y. aloifolia.

Nice bloom! Your Y. aloifolia x stricta X arkansana has narrower leaves than the form I have.......it's nice to see variations. I see a lot of stricta in the bloom but the pistol is not like the stricta's I have (a hybrid pistol). I have no bloom on my a x s X a, perhaps next season

I see your seed pod is erect..........will anyone get pendant seed pods from a a x s X a plant???? How cool would that be.

Does anyone have photos of the arkansana which was the pollen donor? Was it a wide or narrow leaf arkansana..........also what does the arkansana bloom look like?

irgendwie sieht der Intimbereich meiner Pflanze ganz anders aus:




Leider öffnen sich ihre Blüten tagsüber nicht. Erst abends schwach. Nachts habe ich sie noch nicht besucht
Wie man auf den Bildern erkennen kann, musste ich jeweils eines der sehr fleischigen Blütenblätter "gewaltsam" umbiegen,
um das Innere fotografieren zu können.
Leider hatte ich bisher noch keine blühende aloifolia, stricta oder arkansana. Mir fehlt also jeder direkte Vergleich.

Ich kann mich müde daran erinnern, dass das im letzten Jahr eine Diskussion stattfand was nur baileyi x gloriosa und was
die oben genannte betraf.
Ich hab meine Pflanzen von Demeter erhalten, genau wie Benny. Unsere Pflanzen sind absolut identisch.
Bei Palmaliget, wo es die Pflanzen zu kaufen gab, können die jungen Sämlinge vertauscht worden sein. Da gabs eine Sammelbestellung nach Deutschland.
